A great bowling performance by Kabul Eagles to defend a relatively below-par total of 129 ensured they beat Speenghar Tigers by 17 runs to record their second consecutive win in the Shpageeza Cricket League 2019.

Kabul Eagles defend 129 to record their second consecutive win

Having been given a small total to defend, Eagles’ bowlers were brilliant getting Speenghar Tigers all out for 112 in 19.5 overs. Karim Janat, in particular bowled brilliantly capitalizing on his amazing batting earlier in the match. Janat took three wickets and was aided well by Waqar Salamkheil who took three wickets including a couple off the last two deliveries of the match.

Earlier, Eagles’ skipper Asghar Afghan won the toss and opted to bat first in the fifth match of Shpageeza Cricket League. However, Speenghar Tigers bowled great to restrict Eagles to 129/9 in the allotted 20 overs. Karim Sadiq was the pick of the bowlers taking the important wickets of Hazratullah Zazai, Karim Janat and Asghar Afghan.

Janat, who was adjudged Man of the match for his all-round top scored for Eagles with 45 that included 3 sixes and 2 fours in the process.

Kabul Eagles will face Bost Defenders in their next match tomorrow while Speenghar Tigers will play against Mis-e Ainak on 11th.
