All Round Shahidullah and Asghar Atal thump Amo Region

Shahidullah scored an unbeaten 107 (108) and Asghar Atal made an important 75 to help the defending champions Mis Ainak register their 3rd win in the ongoing GAK CUP 2021. 

Earlier in the morning, Mis Ainak won the toss and decided to bowl first against the table toppers Amo region. Openers Farhan Zakhil and Zia UL Haq got themselves into a very good start and shared 84 runs between them for the first wicket in 14.3 overs. 

Over the next 5 overs game time, Zia ul Haq and Zubair Ahmadi followed Farhan and were sent back to the dressing room courtesy of some excellent runouts from the Mis Ainak fielders. Imran Mir and the skipper Nasir Jamal started to rebuild the inning for Amo but both were dismissed by some excellent bowling from Shahidullah as he went through their defenses on both occasions. 

Haji Murad (20), Jamshid Khan (21) and Mohammad Saleem 20* off 14 balls upped the ante for the AMO and somehow managed to get them past 250. They ended their inning on 253 for 9 in 50 overs. For Mis Ainak, tall fast bowler Zia UR Rahman, Left arm spin duo of Mohammad Hashim and Shahidullah took 2 wickets each while the left arm chinaman Noor Ahmad had only 1. 

In response, Mis Ainak lost Naweed Obaid early on for 14, but Shahidullah and Asghar Atal kept the chase on for Mis Ainak and added 125 runs for the 2nd wicket. Asghar fell short of his crease, thanks to a direct hit by Mohammad Saleem for 75 off (105 balls) including 6 fours and 2 sixes. Shahidullah kept going with the required rate and had a productive partnership with the young middle order batsman Rahmanullah Zadran as both have worked hard to add some fruitful runs to their team total. 

Shahidullah continued his great form in the event as he registered another big hundred to his name. His (107) came from (108) balls and smashed (10) fours and (3) sixes in his way down to the chase. Rahmanullah Zadran also supported him well with his handy (35) off 39 balls as Mis Ainak went past the table toppers AMO region by 8 wickets. For AMO, Kamil was the only one bowler who picked one wicket for 51 off his 6 overs. 

Shahidullah for his outstanding all-round performance, was adjudged as the player of the match. Tomorrow, Boost and Band Amir will go down head to head in the last match of the first round of GAK CUP 2021.
