Earlier, Bost won the toss and opted to bowl first at Kabul Cricket Stadium. Imran Mir’s 47 and Afsar Zazai’s 43 helped Mis-e Ainak set a target of 200 for Bost after wickets continued to fall at the other end. Samiullah Shinwari got four wickets while Yamin Ahmadzai and Waqarullah Ishaq also took two wickets each to give Bost a good chance of defending their title.
However, Bost’s good performance with the ball was eclipsed by their opposition’s superior bowling display as they managed to get Bost out for a below-par 111 securing their first championship in Ghazi Amanullah Khan List-A Tournament.
Player of the match Zia ur Rahman Akbar was the pick of the lot taking three wickets while Zia ur Rahman Sharifi, Nawaz Khan, and Ibrahim Zadran took two wickets each. Bost’s opening batsman Ihsanullah Janat gave the only notable performance with the bat for his side scoring 60 runs.
Amo’s Skipper Mirwais Ashraf was declared as the Best Player of the Tournament for his all-round performance taking 16 wickets in 6 matches and scoring 134 runs. Ashraf’s teammate Salim was adjudged the best bowler of the tournament taking 15 wickets in just 5 matches in the competition. Meanwhile, Bost’s Muneer Ahmad was announced as the Best batsman of the tournament for his 414 runs that included 2 centuries and 2 half-centuries.
