Having won the toss, Mis-e Ainak skipper Mohammad Nabi won the toss and opted to bat first. Though Openers Noor Ali Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz played good knocks of 37 and 20 runs respectively, the other batsmen could not capitalize and Mis-e Ainak lost wickets at quick intervals and ended up at 156/8 at the end of their innings helped by the cameos from tail-enders Shafiqullah Ghafari and Naveen ul Haq.
In response, Bost Defenders started off well as Zimbabwean batsman Brendon Taylor started his SCL campaign with a quick-fire knock of 36 that included 4 sixes and 2 fours. back to back wickets by Yamin Ahmadzai in the sixth over hindered the chase briefly before Khaibar Omar and Hashmatullah Shahidi put the defenders back on track with a 76-run partnership. However, the Knights came back strongly taking 6 wickets within 4 overs to record a thrilling victory in their first match of the tournament.
The Knights will play their next match of the tournament tomorrow against Band-e Amir while the defenders will face Kabul Eagles on 10th October.
