Afghanistan were out for 109 and 103 runs in first and second innings respectively amid a strong bowling performance by India. 
India scored 474 runs in their first innings as Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay scored centuries. Afghanistan scored 109 runs in first innings as India's R. Ashwin claimed 4 wickets. Following on, Afghanistan were out for 103 runs in their second innings as Ravindra Jadeja's 4 wickets helped India beat the visitors by an innings and 262 runs. 
Opening batsman, Shikhar Dhawan was declared Man of the match for his brilliant century in the first innings. 
This was Afghanistan's maiden test after obtaining full member status last year.
