Danger CC Win Regional Club Championship 2022/23

Mis-e-Ainak region's representative Danger Cricket Club defeated the Bost Region's Khpalwak Cricket Club by 50 runs to win the Regional Club Championship 2022/23 title on Tuesday at the Khost National Stadium.

The Regional Club Championship, which is the final stage of the Inter-club competitions, was started on December 29 in Khost province and ended with the Mis-e-Ainak Region's Danger Cricket Club winning the title, beating Khpalwak Cricket Club by 50 runs in the final. 

The event featured five regional clubs, which were the winner of inter-regional club competitions in their respective regions. All participating five clubs, in a round-robin format, played 4 games in the first round among which Danger CC and Khpalwak CC with 5 points each, secured the top two spots on the table and advanced to the grand final of the event. 

In the final match, Danger CC won the toss and elected to bat first. Their top order flopped and couldn't provide their team with a good start but the middle order stepped up and put on a good batting display to put in 188 runs in the allotted 25 overs on the board. Younis Zadran was solid with his 46 runs, Muneer Zadran added an unbeaten 40* whereas the all-rounder Abidullah Taniwal played the aggressor role and chipped in with a quick 26* off 15 deliveries. 

In reply, Ainuddin Kakar (39) and Ali Ahmad Nasar (40) chipped in with important runs but Naveed Zadran (3/22) and Zaitullah Shaheen (3/21) ensured that they back up the batting efforts by their batters and help their team defend the total by 50 runs. Naveed Zadran was awarded the player of the match for his match-winning spell of 3/22 in 5 overs. 

Noman Shah (KCC) who had scored 165 runs in 4 innings at an average of 53.40 runs including two half-centuries was awarded as the best batter of the tournament. The left-arm slow orthodox Zaitullah Shaheen from Danger CC (MAR), picked 10 wickets at 5.4 and was adjudged as the best bowler, while Younis Zadran, after scoring 86 runs and picking 6 wickets was awarded as the best player of the tournament. 

The tournament was the last and final activity of the domestic cricket department of ACB which lasted long for 6 days in Khost National Cricket Stadium, Khost.
