Amo Went Past Band Amir in Kandahar

Amo region kept on their fine start to the ongoing GAK Cup 2021 as they registered their 2nd straight victory against Band Amir region beating them by 5 wickets.

Earlier in the day, Amo won the toss & elected to field first. The decision to bowl first soon proved right as the off spinner Ibrahim went through the defenses of Zubaid Akbari on the very first ball of the BA inning.

Soon after the fall of the first wicket, Mohammad Saleem removed the opposite skipper Zia Ul Haq, as the later edged one behind to the wicket keeper. Sediq Atal followed his duck in his first List A outing with another failure this morning and was restricted by Ibrahim for only four runs.

Afsar Zazai who had just departed to Kandahar to join his team was no exception and returned to the dressing room scoring only 1 run. Soon, the debutant right arm quick Muhib Zurmati removed Younus Ahmadzai and Nisar Wahdat just inside three deliveries and marked his debut game a memorable one for himself.

Young fast bowling Allrounder Abdul Rahman and the wrist spinner Shafiqullah Ghafari started to rebuild the inning for their team but the later was removed by a another spinner Zohaib Khan for 20 runs.

Band Amir was bundled out on 108 runs in 28.5 overs with Abdul Rahman scoring an unbeaten 43 runs. Spinners Ibrahim and Zohaib scalped shared 6 wickets between them for 41 runs off their 14 overs. Muhib Zurmati picked 2 while Saleem and Wasi Noori took 1 wicket each.

In response, the Band Amir fasters kept on bowling tight lines and had restricted Amo at 23/3 in 4.5 overs and one would have thought that this match would get into a dead rubber but the National capped Abdul Malik 29 (34) and Nasir Jamal 29 (44) made sure they survive the attack and get their team out of the trouble.

Both senior lads shared 45 runs between them before Abdul Rahman removed both of them inside two overs to swing the game back into their own favor, but Ibrahim followed his excellent bowling figures in first inning with a handy 21* off (24) balls to help his side to two victories out of two games they have played.

Abdul Rahman contributed with the ball as well as he picked up 2/42 out of his 7 overs. Nijat Masood also helped his side with two wickets while Mohammadullah Hamkar bagged only 1.

The man of the Match award was given to the spin bowling allrounder Ibrahim Safi who has contributed with the both Bat (21* off 24) and ball (3/14 off 7 overs) for his team.
