Amo Sharks Register Second Successive SCL Glory
Kabul – July 31, 2025: The Azmatullah Omarzai-led Amo Sharks delivered a remarkable all-round performance to defeat the Mis-e-Ainak Knights by 8 wickets in the Grand Finale and claim their second-successive SCL Title.
The tournament, which commenced on July 19 in Kabul, featured five regional teams competing in a double round-robin format and concluded today with the Grand Finale between the top two teams at Kabul Cricket Stadium.
Earlier in the day, Amo Sharks’ captain Azmatullah Omarzai won the toss and elected to bowl first. Powered by brilliant bowling efforts from Azmatullah Omarzai (4/21) and Abdullah Ahmadzai (3/21), helped the Amo Sharks to bundle the Mis-e-Ainak Knights out for 121 runs in the first inning.
The Amo Sharks have made light work of the chase as they took the game home by 8 wickets to win their second successive SCL title. Hassan Eisakhil (50*) top scored for them with a crucial half-century, whereas Noor Rahman put on yet another promising knock of 35 runs. Abdullah Ahmadzai, who took three important wickets of Wafiullah Tarakhil, Afsar Zazai and Mohammad Nabi and dismantled Mis-e-Ainak Knights’ batting lineup, was named the Player of the Match in the Final.
Mis-e-Ainak Knights talented top-order batter Khalid Taniwal, who scored 279 runs at 34.87 with a hundred and a half-century to his name, was awarded as the Emerging player of the Tournament. Band-e-Amir Dragons’ talented all-rounder Nangial Kharoti won the Best Catch of the Tournament Award for his incredible catch at the deep. Sharafuddin Ashraf, Amo Sharks’ experienced left-arm spinner, picked 14 wickets in the tournament and was recognized as the best bowler of the Etisalat Shpageeza Cricket League 2025, powered by X-Bull Energy.
Band-e-Amir Dragons’ skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi was adjudged as the best batter of the tournament for scoring 321 runs at 40.12 runs in the event. Dragons’ talented top-order batter, Sediqullah Atal won the the Most Sixes of the Tournament award with 17 Sixes to his name. Karim Jannat, Bost Defenders’ talented all-rounder, scored 255 runs and also took 7 wickets, was awarded as the best player of the tournament.
The event was supported by Etisalat Afghanistan as the title sponsor, and the Super Cola Beverages Manufacturing Company as the powered by sponsor. Other sponsors included Azizi Bank (Sleeve Partner), Milat Steel (Associate Sponsor), and Amart Group (Ad-hoc

The Etisalat Shpageeza Cricket League 2025, powered by XBull Energy continues to be a pivotal part of Afghanistan’s domestic cricket, which will be followed by the 8th edition of the List A Tournament in August 2025 which will further promote the game of the cricket in the country.
