Afghanistan U19 secure first win to stay alive in series

Afghanistan U19 beat India U19 by 3 wickets in the third ODI to stay alive in the five-match series in Lucknow, India.

Having won the toss, Afghanistan opted to field first. India U19 were all out for 152 in 49 overs setting a target of 153 as Abid Mohammadi took 4 wickets for Afghanistan while Abdul Rahman Rahmani took three. Shubhang Hegde top-scored for India U19 with 46 while Vikrant Bhadoriya scored 39.

In response, Afghanistan U19 secured their first win of the series as they chased the target in 46.2 overs losing 7 wickets in the process. Imran Mir, Mohammad Ishaq, and Abdul Rahman Rahmani contributed with the bat scoring 34, 32 and 26 runs respectively while Rahmanullah Zadran scored 21.

Rahmani was adjudged player of the match for his all-round performance.

The fourth match of the series between both teams will be played on Thursday 28th November at the same venue.
