ACB PLEDGES TO HELP CRICKET GROW IN TAJIKISTAN

During the ongoing official visit to Tajikistan, ACB Chairman Azizullah Fazli accompanied by a delegation participated in an event held at the country’s capital, Dushanbe.

The event hosted by Tajikistan Cricket Federation included prominent guests including ambassadors of Afghanistan, the United Kingdom, India and Pakistan, the mayor of Dushanbe city, top ranking officials of Tajikistan’s Olympic Association and representatives of the youth.

Addressing the event, ACB chairman said, “I am glad to participate in today’s important event. Afghanistan started its similar cricket journey few years ago. Today, the rapid rise of Afghanistan is exemplary in the game’s development. I am confident that Tajikistan will also have good achievements in the cricketing field.”

Fazli added that ACB is committed to help the game grow in Tajikistan and, therefore, will assist the country’s Cricket Federation in technical areas. He added that ACB will organize training programs for umpires, scorers and coaches from Tajikistan and a team of youngsters will also be sent to Tajikistan for a series of matches.

The officials from Tajikistan Cricket Federation called the visit by the ACB delegation a vital step and added that in capacity of a Full Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC), ACB’s recommendations and guidelines will be implemented and utilized to help the growth of the game in Tajikistan.
