ACB Name Julian Calefato as the National Team’s New Physiotherapist

Kabul – Aug 28, 2024: The Afghanistan Cricket Board has appointed South African-based Italian Julian Calefato as AfghanAtalan’s new Physiotherapist. Calefato takes over the role from Prasanth Panchada, who served the national team for nearly five years.
The newly-appointed Physiotherapist, Julian Calefato, holds an MSc in Physiotherapy, along with bachelor's degrees in Exercise Science and Sports Science from leading universities in England and South Africa. He also has a Level-2 coaching certification in cricket.
Julian has worked on both domestic and international levels and has extensive experience as a Physiotherapist, Rehabilitation Manager and Strength and Conditioning Coach.
He also served as physiotherapist and medical manager for the Bangladesh National Cricket Team from 2019 to 2023. His professional experience also includes working with county teams and domestic competitions in South Africa.
He has previously worked as an S&C trainer with Derbyshire County Cricket Club and as a Performance Consultant at the Sport Science Institute of South Africa, providing rehabilitation and conditioning services.
