Brilliant performances by all-rounder Abdul Rahman and bowlers ensured Afghanistan U19 gained a much needed momentum ahead of the main event of the ICC U19 World Cup as they beat England U19 by 21 runs in their second warm-up match ahead of the tournament.

Brilliant performances by all-rounder Abdul Rahman and bowlers ensured Afghanistan U19 gained a much needed momentum ahead of the main event of the ICC U19 World Cup as they beat England U19 by 21 runs in their second warm-up match ahead of the tournament.
Batting first, Afghanistan U19 scored 205/8 in their alotted 50 overs after struggling at one point with 59/4 in the 24th over. However, a match-winning half-century from Abdul Rahman and a tremendous knocks of 43 and 26 from lower order batsmen Mohammad Ishaq and Abid Mohammadi helped Afghanistan set a relatively decent target of 206 for the English.
In response, a brilliant bowling performance ensured the English U19 team fell short by 21 runs in their chase. Fazal Haq was the pick of the lot taking 3 wickets while Abdul Rahman, Noor Ahmad and Shafiqullah Ghafari took two wickets each in the process.
