Afghanistan Cricket Board welcomed and commended Afghanistan PwDs team today upon their arrival from England where they participated in the World Disability World Cricket Series 2019. The players were awarded certificates of appreciation as well as financial rewards by ACB for their exceptional performance representing the country.
In an event held at ACB Headquarters in Kabul, ACB Chairman Farhan Yusefzai, who was also accompanied by ACB CEO Lutfullah Stanikzai, called the players inspirational and ensured them of ACB’s full assistance.
Addressing the team, Mr.Yusefzai said:” I congratulate you on your achievement and am confident that you will continue to achieve more in the future. “He continued, “As Chairman, I assure you of ACB’s full support whenever needed. “
Afghanistan PwDs skipper Nabiullah Nabi expressed his thanks to ACB for providing them with required facilities. He further added, “We tried our best to win the title, unfortunately it did not happen. However, I thank all my players who played very well throughout the tournament. “
Concluding the event, ACB Chairman presented financial rewards to all players while CEO Mr. Stanikzai also presented the team and the event’s leading wicket-taker Shireen Agha letters of appreciation on behalf of the organization.
Afghanistan PwDs team beat Bangladesh, Pakistan and England in the group stage of the World Physical Disability World Series 2019 respectively before having their campaign ended by losing against England in the Semi-Final of the tournament that was eventually won by India’s PwDs team.
