Afghan Zwanan triumph over Afghan Atalan in Independence centenary celeebration

Gulbadin Naib’s Afghan Zwanan beat Rashid Khan’s Afghan Atalan in a friendly match played at Kabul Cricket Stadium to celebrate the 100th Independence Anniversary of Afghanistan.

Having won the toss, Afghan Zwanan skipper Gulbadin Naib and opted to bat first. They posted 179/6 in their 20 overs as Naib top-scored with 54 runs while Ihsanullah Janat and Hashmatullah Shahidi scored 45 each. Afghan Atalan’s Dawlat Zadran and Farid Ahmad took two wickets each while Shapoor Zadran and Zia ur Rahman Sharifi took a wicket each as well.

In response, Afghan Atalan were all out for 139 thus, losing the match by 40 runs. Javed Ahmadi and Darwish Rasooli scored 28 runs each while Farid Ahmad and Sharafuddin Ashraf scored 22 and 21 runs respectively. Zwanan’s Yamin Ahmadzai took three wickets while Sayed Ahmad Shirzad and Zahir Khan took 2 wickets each. Najib Zadran and Hamid Hassan also took a wicket each as well.

Afghan Zwanan skipper Gulbadin Naib was adjudged player of the match while Hamid Hassan secured Stylish Player of the match prize.
