Allah Dad Noori

Technical Advisor

Allah Dad Noori belongs to the Cheshma-e-Sher area of Pul-e-Khumri district in Baghlan Province. He is considered to be the founder and the ex-president of the Afghanistan Cricket Federation. He also captained Afghanistan National Team from 1998 to 2004 and was serving the national team as a prime fast bowler.

After completing his baccalaureate degree from the Wahdat-e-Islami high school in Malakand, Noori went on to accomplish his bachelor’s degree in English Literature. Contributing to the foundation of the game of cricket in Afghanistan is considered to be the biggest achievement in Noori’s life, as the game of cricket, in return has served the country in numerous ways.

Cricket is currently the leading sport in Afghanistan with a huge fan base. The positive engagement of Afghan youngsters in the game of cricket is something that is highly admirable for Mr. Allah Dad and he marks this as his massive personal achievement for the country. Mr. Allah Dad Noori likes to play cricket, study historical and religious books, and tend to serve his country, in the sporting aspects as required.

Mr. Allah Dad Noori was awarded as the father of cricket, for his tireless efforts and determination shown to Afghan cricket. He has also had the honor to be embodied in a film, called the Great Game, which demonstrates how the game of cricket was found in Afghanistan. The mission of the film was the “one-man mission to pick up the bat and put down the gun”. After the release of the film, he was awarded “the brave man” award, which is considered to be another great achievement in his life.

Apart from being the Technical Advisor, Noori is also a part of the Board Members Panel of the Afghanistan Cricket Board. He is grateful for his role in the ACB and considers it a great opportunity to utilize his skills, abilities, experience, and understanding of Afghan Cricket in a better manner to contribute to further growth & benefit of cricket in the country. He also believes that his appointment as a board member will have a positive impact on the organization since he is well aware of the administrative and technical affairs, and will strive hard to contribute to the overall development of the organization and to the game of cricket in Afghanistan.
