Mr. Zemarai Kamgar was born on 2nd October 1954 at Mazar-e-Sharif, Balkh Province Afghanistan. He was brought up in a wealthy family and completed his education from B. A Technical Engineering course at Balkh University and has also successfully completed Faculty of Engineering Course in Gas and Oil from Kabul University. He fluently speaks Dari, Pashto, and Russian languages.

His family business journey started when his grandfather was a host of the country’s reformist leader, King Amanullah Khan, after gaining independence from the British Colony in 1919. They started to trade doing export and import of fuel, cooking oil, food products, technical equipment, and construction materials from neighboring countries and the Soviet Union.

The ambition of his business journey was to serve his nation through fair business practices by creating employment opportunities and contributing to the prosperity of his motherland. Mr. Kamgar was able to establish a profitable business group in Afghanistan and expanded in the region, under the umbrella of Kam Group.

Today Kam Group stands in 3rd position as a Big Business Group in the country and plays a vital economic role in Afghanistan. Kam Group is actively involved in various industries such as Oil refinery, Aviation (Commercial and Cargo), Entertainment (TV & Radio), Charity, Trading (Export and Import), and in the Energy sector as well.

Under the leadership of Mr. Zemarai Kamgar, this journey came into reality and turned into an iconic symbol in the aviation industry in Afghanistan. Kam Air is a well-known name and the first private airline in the country. It enhanced the aviation transport in Afghanistan. Despite national flights in various sectors, Kam Air became a trustable bridge between Afghanistan and other countries and has regular flights to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, India, Iran, and the UAE.

Besides all its business activities, Kam Group acts as an ambassador to support and promote cultural, social, and educational institutions in the country. In this area, the outcomes are visible and touchable by the public and government as well. They as a group are committed to acting regularly for the prosperity of our nation and building strong relationships among business communities and neighboring countries as well.

Mr. Kamgar is honored to have had the boarding services of the Afghanistan National Cricket Team. He believes that the National team has inspired the younger generation of the country and it has had a positive impact on the unison and harmony of the people of Afghanistan.

He believes that the Afghanistan Cricket Board and the national cricket team must be provided with successive market opportunities to increase their financial status and build cricket fundamentals in all provinces. He trusts that the game of cricket has brought the nation closer and has resulted in eliminating negative environments.
