Dr. Ahmad Khalid Hatam

Dr. Ahmad Khalid Hatam, a board member of the Afghanistan cricket board, was born on 9th December 1982 in Kunar province of Afghanistan. He was brought up in a wealthy family and has accomplished his B.A. LL.B (Hons) in Shariah & Law, LL.M in International Law, and Ph.D. in Islamic Law and Jurisprudence from the International Islamic University Islamabad. His expertise includes a wide range of professional and advisory services that he has offered to several multinational organizations, financial and banking institutions, and government entities throughout his career.

Dr. Hatam has extensively worked on issues including but not limited to Commercial Law, Tax Law, Labor Law, Banking Law, Islamic Banking Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms including Arbitration Law and Mediation Law, the Law of Negotiable Instruments and Property Law. He also served as Senior Consultant (Legal) at the Central Public Private Partnership Authority of the Afghan Ministry of Finance and served as Trainer Arbitrator at the Afghanistan Center for Dispute Resolution (“ACDR”).

Dr. Hatam Currently serves as chancellor of Kardan University. He also fulfills responsibilities as a Member of the International Chamber of Commerce - Afghanistan (ICC Afghanistan); Shariah Board Member of the Islamic Bank of Afghanistan (formerly, Bakhtar Bank); and consultant to various national and international organizations. In addition, he has the experience of working as a lecturer & assistant professor in International Islamic University Islamabad and has also worked at its research wing-the Islamic research institute.

Previously, he fulfilled the duties of Senior Associate at RIAA Barker Gillette AFG, Deputy Director at Afghanistan Humanitarian Organization for Development (AHOD); Dean Faculty of Social Sciences at Kardan University Kabul, and Assistant Professor of Law at different universities.

As a board member of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, he aims to contribute to the promotion of the game of cricket in Afghanistan and to keep it away from political interference. According to him the game of cricket has brought the nation together. Promoting cricket more in the country and taking it to the grassroots level will further unite the nation.
