ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is the sole independent governing body for managing, organizing, and development Cricket (Men and Women) in Afghanistan. The game of cricket was officially established in 1995 in Afghanistan. It was granted affiliate membership by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2001, associate membership of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in 2003, and full membership of the International Cricket Council in June 2017. Afghanistan has its National Cricket Teams playing among the top 10 cricketing countries of the world.

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Performance Analyst is a vital member of the support staff for the Afghanistan National Cricket Team, responsible for providing in-depth analysis of player performance, opposition strategies, and match statistics. This position plays a key role in enhancing the team's strategic planning, decision-making, and overall performance on the field.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Match Analysis:

  • All match coding’s
  • Provide real-time analysis during matches, focusing on player performance, opposition tactics, and key match situations.
  • Capture and analyze video footage to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement in both individual and team performance.

Statistical Analysis:

  • Compile and maintain comprehensive statistical databases for players, teams, and opponents.
  • Generate insightful statistical reports to assist the coaching staff in strategic planning and player development.

Opposition Scouting:

  • Conduct a thorough analysis of upcoming opposition teams, including player profiles, strategies, and recent performance trends.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to develop strategies based on opposition strengths and weaknesses.

Player Performance Evaluation:

  • Evaluate individual player performances in training sessions and matches, identifying trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide feedback to players and coaching staff to enhance player development.
  • Provide feedback to the selection committee through the Head Coach & HPC department

Technology Utilization:

  • Utilize the latest technologies, including video analysis software and performance tracking tools, to enhance the depth and accuracy of analysis.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and recommend relevant tools to improve analysis processes.

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with coaching staff to develop game plans and strategies based on comprehensive analysis.
  • Provide insights on optimal player positioning, fielding setups, and tactical adjustments during matches.

Data Visualization:

  • Create visually compelling presentations and reports to convey complex statistical information to coaching staff and players.
  • Use graphics and visuals to facilitate a better understanding of performance trends and strategic insights.

Training Session Analysis:

  • Analyze training sessions to assess the effectiveness of drills, fitness routines, and skill development programs.
  • Provide recommendations for refining training methodologies based on performance analysis.

Post-Match Reports:

  • Prepare detailed post-match analysis reports, summarizing key performance indicators, player contributions, and areas for improvement.
  • Present findings to the coaching staff and selection committee through the HPC department in a clear and actionable manner.

Miscellaneous:

  • Any additional responsibilities or tasks assigned by the Head Coach or HPC department related to performance analysis duties.

 

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Academic background in sports science, performance analysis, or a related field.
  • Coaching certification, at least Level 2 and higher will be preferable.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Performance Analyst in cricket.
  • Proficient in the use of performance analysis software, video editing tools, and statistical analysis programs.
  • Strong understanding of cricket tactics, player dynamics, and match strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex analysis findings to diverse audiences.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of team strategies, player data, and any sensitive information related to the Afghanistan National Cricket Team.
