Head of Selection department is a key unit in ACB and work under the guidance and direct supervision of Afghanistan Cricket Board top management and will be responsible for the oversight of all selection aspects of the ACB. Selection department must be aware of and ensure adherence principles of the ACB selection law, ACB policies and procedures and other cost principles imposed by the ICC.

Job Summary:

Head of Selection department is a key unit in ACB and work under the guidance and direct supervision of Afghanistan Cricket Board top management and will be responsible for the oversight of all selection aspects of the ACB. Selection department must be aware of and ensure adherence principles of the ACB selection law, ACB policies and procedures and other cost principles imposed by the ICC.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The head of selection department will be the overall responsible for the selection department and will report to CEO and Chairman of ACB
  • The head of selection department will make sure the AMS is functional in order to identify, select, engage and measure top-quality players who are able to achieve consistent optimal performance
  • Head of selection is responsible for proposing all official teams to ACB management based on the AMS for approval. This includes but not limited to National Team, National A team, U19, Emerging and all teams of domestics cricket (List A, 4-day, Shpageeza, Grade 1-3 etc.)
  • The Head of selection department will Work closely with external partners including major associations, cricket players’ association etc.
  • The head of selection department will be responsible to consider and apply the principles and philosophies as outlined in the policy
  • He / She will be working collaboratively in coming to mutually agreed decisions
  • The head of selection department is the principal responsible person for implementing the selection policy and procedure
  • The head of selection department is responsible to make sure all the domestic and international players data including fitness, performance and discipline are timely uploaded to the AMS
  • The head of selection department will be responsible for further development of AMS if and when required
  • The head of selection department will be responsible to timely collect information about players form Coaches, Physio and Discipline Committee and upload it to the website
  • He / She will work closely with the Domestic and Operation departments to make sure all the selected players for any event (Domestic & National) are on board
  • The head of selection department will provide support and information to categorize the players’ contracts
  • The head of selection will propose the final squad for any national and international tour or camp as per the AMS data
  • The head of selection department will make sure all the Camps and Training sessions are covered and the data is uploaded to the AMS on timely basis
  • He / She should provide monthly report to ACB management
  • Any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the top management

Job Requirement:

  • Master Degree with 5 years Experience
  • Bachelor Degree with 7 years Experience
  • Level 2 Qualified Coach
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Good Communication and inter-personal skills
  • Fluent in English, Pashto & Dari
  • Professional report writing skills
  • Maintains high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, prioritizing skills, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work as a team member in varied activities
