Zia Parwani & Allround Zubaid Akbari Led Band Amir to their first Win in GAK CUP

Zubaid Akbari (105) scored century and skipper Zia Parwani (71*) made unbeaten half century to lead their team BA to thier two points in the event. 

Earlier in the day, Speen Ghar were sent to bat first, Tamim started well for his team, smashing two back to back boundaries off Nijat Masaood’s bowling in the first over but soon after, Zubaid struck in his third delivery in the 2nd over and removed the danger man Bahar Ali as he nicked one behind to Afsar Zazai. 

Speen Ghar were restricted to 64/4 in 15.5 overs as Nijat removed Bashir shah before Shafiqullah Ghafari got the rid of Tamim Surkhrodi and Arif Khan inside four overs. Skipper Nasir Omar and the spin bowling allrounder Tahir Adil batted deep and shared 126 runs between them for the 5th wicket. 

After scoring an important 81 off (104) balls, Nasir Omar edged Abdul Rahman behind. He was followed by Tahir Adil, who fell short of his home courtesy of a direct hit by Younus Ahmadzai after making almost a run a ball 72 off (73) including 1 four and four 6s. 
Speen Ghar finished their inning having 228 runs on the board after losing 6 wickets in a 45 overs game. For BA, Shafiqullah Ghafari took 2, while Nijat Masood, Abdul Rahman and Zubaid Akbari picked 1 wicket each with Akbari bowling at a rate of 3.4 runs per over. 

In response, Band Amir started solidly with the debutant Wasim Zazai got out after playing 41 balls and scored 17 in his first game. He was followed by Afsar Zazai a few over later for 13 but skipper Zia Parwani and the promising young top order batsman Zubaid Akbari batted for 17.2 overs together and shared 116 runs between them. 

Zubaid got out after scoring his maiden List A hundred (105) off 108 balls including 15 boundaries. Zia carried his bat till the end and took his team home as BA registered an emphatic win by 7 wickets. For SG, Batin Shah, Abdullah Adil and Mohammad Tahir took 1 wicket apiece. 

For scoring 105 runs and the bowling numbers of 1/31 in 9 overs, Zubaid Akbari was awarded as the player of the match. With this happening, SG lost their fourth match on the trot and are eliminated from the event. BA are placed fourth in the table and have got one match to go. Tomorrow, Mis Ainak will be playing the table toppers Amo Region in the 9th match of the GAK List A event 2021.
