Afghanistan squad for the only test against Bangladesh left today to UAE where they will participate in a training camp from 22nd to 29th August. The one-off test will be played from 5th to 9th September in Bangladesh.

ACB Chairman Farhan Yusefzai met the squad ahead of their departure and called them a strong team that has the ability to beat any team in the world. He said that they can achieve that by cooperation and discipline.

Mr. Yusefzai added, “ All players should be physically fit, have discipline and perform well while also coordinating well between each other since discipline and coordination are co-related. “ He further assured the players of his assistance as needed adding that, “It is my priority to provide you with all the facilities required.”

ACB CEO Lutfullah Stanikzai also addressed the players and assured them of the organization’s full support and providing them with all the necessary facilities. Emphasizing on the importance of physical fitness and capability, Mr. Stanikzai added, “You should pay specific attention to your fitness, performance and discipline since they are the factors that shape your personality as players. “

Stanikzai encouraged the players to work hard on their fitness and pass the YoYo test since there are many deserving youngsters who need to be provided ample opportunities and prioritized henceforth.

Chief Selector Andy Moles, who serves as provisional Head coach for the Bangladesh tour, said in his remarks to the players, “ If you want to succeed consistently, practice and train well as it guarantees good results and a successful future for you as players. “

Skipper Rashid Khan in his remarks congratulated the players who made their way to the squad for the only test against Bangladesh. He also expressed his thanks to ACB leadership for their assistance in providing the players with required provisions and facilities that will benefit them in future.

Rashid further added:” A team is like a family and the team members play as one family. We will do the same when we play against any opposition and I hope that we succeed in the coming matches. “

The national team is scheduled to play a one-off test match against Bangladesh from 5th to 9th September while the triangular series that also features Zimbabwe and hosts Bangladesh will be played from 13th to 24th September.
