Having won the toss, Rashid Khan led Band-e Amir Dragons batted first and posted 144/8 in 20 overs. Afsar Zazai’s 35 and Nasir Jamal’s 33 were the notable batting contributions for the Dragons as they set 145 for Tigers to win. Tigers’ Zahir Khan, Sayed Ahmad Shirzad and Shahidullah took two wickets each.
In response, Tigers were slow in the chase after losing two quick wickets in the second over of the chase. Najeeb Tarakai and Baheer Shah added 52 for the third wicket to put things back on track before both lost their wickets with the Tigers struggling at 72/4 in the 13th over while Najibullah Zadran scored a cameo of 23 runs only to lose his wicket to Fareed Malik. Dragons’ Mujeeb ur Rahman, who was declared Man of the Match later, bowled brilliantly taking 2 wickets at a miser economy rate of 3 runs per over.
Speenghar Tigers could manage 129/7 in the allotted 20 overs conceding the match by 15 runs. They will play their next match tomorrow against Bost Defenders while Band-e Amir Dragons will face the defenders on 14th in the last match of the league stage.
