Afghanistan national squad returned back home today after securing a victory against Ireland in the three-match T20I series in India where they won two and lost the third match.
In an event organized at ACB Headquarters in Kabul, ACB CEO Mr. Lutfullah Stanikzai thanked the ACB Chairman, players, fans, sponsors and all other stakeholders and congratulated them on the series victory.
Mr. Stanikzai added, “The year 2020 started with a win for us as the players had prepared well during the training camps in UAE. The players are united and performed very well in the series and we hope they continue the great performance in the major T20 events of this year later as well. “
Mr. Stanikzai also thanked the new BCCI administration for their continued assistance to ACB during the tour.
Skipper Asghar Afghan also addressed the event and said that he is happy with the team’s performance and hoped that the training camps in Kabul and South Africa as well as other preparations will bear good fruits for the team in the major events later this year. He further added, “It is always a positive point for a team when it is tough for its captain to select the playing XI considering the depth in the squad. “
Afghanistan beat Ireland 2-1 in the recently concluded series at the Greater Noida Ground in India.
