BOST DEFENDERS SECURE THEIR FIRST VICTORY OF THE SEASON

A Captain’s performance by Gulbadin Naib ensured Bost Defenders secure their first victory of the ongoing Shpageeza Cricket League 2019 beating Amo Sharks by 15 runs in the eighth match of the tournament. Naib scored a blistering knock of 91 and took three wickets in a performance that earned him Man of the Match award.

Earlier, Gulbadin Naib won the toss and opted to bat first in Bost’s third match of the tournament. Having lost two early wickets, put on partnerships of 81 and 67 runs for the fourth and fifth wicket with Hashmatullah Shahidi and Darwish Rasooli respectively to take his team to a competitive total of 176/5 in 20 overs.

In response, Amo Sharks’ openers Ibrahim Zadran and Usman Ghani started well with an opening partnership of 40 runs. Zadran top-scored with 35 runs while Ghani scored 25. Munir Ahmad and Rahmat Shah also contributed with 30 and 23 runs respectively. However, Gulbadin Naib’s three and Zia ur Rahman Akbar’s two wickets ensured the Defenders restricted Sharks to 161/7 winning the match by 15 runs.

Bost defenders will play against Speenghar Tigers in their next match while Amo Sharks will face Kabul Eagles tomorrow.
