Amo too Strong for Mis-e-Ainak to register 2nd Successive Win
Banking on half-centuries from Ijaz Ahmad (93), Sediqullah Atal (78), Abdul Malik (70) & Hayatullah (57) and excellent spin bowling displays from Shafiqullah Ghafari (8/56) & Jamshid Khan (6/33) propelled Amo Region to beat the Mis-e-Ainak region by an inning and 132 runs.
Amo batted first and put 398 runs on the board in their inning, the score that the Mis-e-Ainak region couldn’t touch after batting out their two innings. Wicket-keeper batter Yousuf Shah’s 39 runs in the first and a half-century (61) in the 2nd inning were the only batting positives for the Mis-e-Ainak region whereas Zahir Khan picked a five-wicket haul in the first inning as their bowling performance.
Jamshid Khan took 5/24 in the first inning to help Amo bundle out the opposition for 103 runs before enforcing the follow-on, but the leg-spinner Shafiqullah Ghafari ran through the middle and tail to pick up 7/44 in the 2nd inning and reduce Mis-e-Ainak to 163 and subsequently forcing them fell short by an inning and 132 runs.
Shafiqullah Ghafari, who picked up 8/56 in both innings, was awarded the best player of the match. Amo will now travel to Khost to face the Band-e-Amir region for their 3rd match in the competition whereas the Mis-e-Ainak region will rest for the 4th round of matches and return for the last round in Khost province where they will meet Speenghar region on 1st November.
