ALL-ROUND IBRAHIM ZADRAN HANDS EAGLES THEIR FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON

A terrific all-round performance from Ibrahim Zadran ensured Amo Sharks hand Kabul Eagles their first loss the Shpageeza Cricket League 2019. Zadran, who scored the tournament’s highest individual score also took three wickets in a performance that earned him Man of the Match award.

ALL-ROUND IBRAHIM ZADRAN HANDS EAGLES THEIR FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON

Earlier in the day, Kabul Eagles Captain Asghar Afghan won the toss and opted to field first. Amo Sharks’ opening pair of Usman Ghani and Ibrahim Zadran put together a century partnership of 125 runs before Ghani lost his wicket for 51 in the 16th over. Ibrahim went on to register this season’s highest individual score so far as he remained unbeaten on 96 that included 4 sixes and 6 fours as Kabul Eagles ended their innings on 186/2. Senior batsman Mirwais Ashraf also contributed with a quick cameo of 27 runs that included three sixes. Eagles’ Abdullah Mazari and Karim Janat were the only ones who took wickets.

In response, Asghar Afghan and Karim Janat took Kabul Eagles close to the target as they scored 78 and 37 runs respectively. However, other batsmen could not capitalize as Eagles fell short by --- runs losing their first match of the tournament.

Mirwais Ashraf was the pick of the bowlers for the Sharks bagging 3 wickets giving away only 29 runs in the process.

Kabul Eagles have already qualified to the play-offs and will play their next match of the tournament tomorrow against Mis-e Ainak Knights while the Sharks will also face Knights on 14th.
