Afghanistan U19 team travelled today to Sri Lanka where they will defend their title in the upcoming U19 Asia Cup 2019.

ACB Chairman Farhan Yusefzai met the players ahead of their trip and assured them of ACB’s full support and providing them with all necessary facilities.

Addressing the players, Mr. Yusefzai said: “ You are the future of Afghan Cricket. Try and play your best cricket to defend your title that can be done if you have good coordination and play as one unit. “

CEO Mr. Lutfullah Stanikzai reiterated the organization’s support and added :” There are many expectations from you to perform well. You have the potential to beat any opposition and successfully defend your title. “He continued, “You are the future of our national team and you can make way to the senior team if you perform well and stay disciplined. I assure all those players who do so will be given opportunity to represent the national U19 team in 2020 U19 World Cup as well. “

National U19 team coach, Raees Ahmadzai thanked ACB leadership for their support and encouragement. Addressing the team, Ahmadzai told them to be focused on winning matches.

National U19 team will train in Sri Lanka from 26th August to 2nd September before starting the campaign to defend their title in the U19 Asia Cup 2019 that is scheduled to be held from 5th to 14th September.
