The Director of Cricket at Afghanistan Cricket Board, Mr. Raees Ahmadzai represented the organization at the meeting of the Asian Cricket Council where the full-members and some associate members of the Council took part through video-conferencing.
A captain’s knock from Asghar Afghan takes DFI Band-e Amir Dragons one step closer to the Final as they beat DG Bost Defenders by 76 runs defending the highest total in the tournament’s history in the eliminator at Kabul Cricket Stadium. Afghan was the top-performer with the bat scoring 95 off just 39 deliveries hitting 7 maxiums while Mirwais Ashraf took a four-wicket haul to secure a comprehensive victory for the Dragons.

The monthly board meeting of Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) was held led by ACB Chairman Mr. Farhan Yusefzai. During the meeting, the newly introduced four members of the board were welcomed, land allocation for the new stadium in Kabul and other plans for the future, including national team’s FTP and the financial stability of the organization were discussed.
A four-wicket haul by Sharafuddin Ashraf and half-centuries from Asghar Afghan and Usman Ghani provided Band-e Amir Dragons with their first victory of the Etisalat 4G Shpageeza Cricket League as they beat DG Bost Defenders by 9 wickets in the fifth match of the tournament. Ghani and Afghan remained unbeaten on 62 and 55 runs respectively as they chased the target of 134 with five overs to spare.
The ownership rights in the 7th round of the Shpageeza Cricket League have been awarded to five companies namely Speenghar Tigers to Afghanistan Coal Traders Union (ACTU), Kabul Eagles to Ayubi Sports Complex (ASC), Amo Sharks to Naveed Ahmadzai Money Exchange Services (NAMES), Band-e-Amir to Daily Fresh Company (DFC) and Mis-e-Ainak to Hazrat Trading Company (HCL).
Afghanistan Cricket Board was granted approval by the Government’s Emergency committee for prevention of COVID-19 headed by Second Vice President of Afghanistan Mr. Sarwar Danish, to conduct domestic competitions henceforth that effectively paves the way for the seventh edition of Shpageeza Cricket League to be held in near future.
Najib Zadran played one of the best knocks in Shpageeza’s history to keep his team Speenghar Tigers’ hopes alive in the tournament as the Tigers were propelled to the third spot on the points table. Zadran hit 97 off just 35 balls that included 8 sixes and 9 fours including three sixes and 2 fours in one over from Gulbadin Naib.
