Afghanistan PwDs team returns home

Afghanistan People with Disablities (PwDs) team returns home after a three match T20 and two match One-Day series against the All India Association for the Physically Challenged (AIAPC) team.

The Chief Executive Officer of Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), Shafiqullah Stanikzai called the PwDs team special and a side worthy of deserved respect. Stanikzai pledged ACB’s commitment to help the PwDs prepare better for next year’s World Cup for the Physically Challenged by organizing training camps.

Stanikzai said he was pleased with the way the Afghanistan PwDs performed in the tour and expressed belief that the PwDs would be able to triumph in the World Cup for the Physically Challenged which is scheduled to be staged in August 2019.

Stanikzai added that as per ACB’s policy, the members of the PwDs team will be awarded contracts and that ACB will designate a specific budget to PwDs cricket further improve their game.

During their tour of India, The Afghanistan PwDs team levelled the One-Day series 1-1 and lost the T20 series 2-1.
