Afghanistan U19 squad announced for Under 19 Asia Cup

ACB selection committee announced the U19 team squad for the upcoming U19 Asia Cup.  As per the ACB selection committee selection policy, the squad will comprise of new faces for the competition.

The squad selected for Asia cup consists of players who were selected from the pool of 27 players who participated in a training camp organized by ACB. Afterwards, fitness tests were conducted to finalize 21 players who took part in matches against Afghanistan Emerging team. The squad selected for Asia Cup were selected among those 21 players.

The squad includes the following players:

Sadiqullah, Riaz Hassan, Abid Mohammadi, Ijaz, Farhan, Basir Khan, Mohammad Hassan, Abdullah, Mohammad Ishaq, Abdul Rahman, Usman Ghani, Samiullah, Naveed Ahmad, Naveed Khan and Zakiullah.

The selected squad will participate in training session and practice matches in Lucknow ahead of the Asia Cup. These matches will involve matches against Nepal, India U19 and India NCA U19 team. It shall be noted that the team will also take part in a five-day training session before and after these matches.

The team will travel to Bangladesh on 25th September where they will play their first match of the Asia Cup on 29th September against UAE. 

Afghanistan will be joined in its group by Nepal, UAE and India.
