Afghanistan start Super Six stage with a win over Windies

Afghanistan beat West Indies by 3 wickets to claim their second win in the ongoing ICC World Cup Qualifier.

West Indies won the toss and opted to bat first. The Afghan bowlers proved difficult to face for the Windies batsmen as they were restricted for 197 runs in 50 overs. Mujeeb Zadran was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed three wickets, including the key wicket of Chris Gayle. His performance earned him the player of the match award.

A well-played innings of 68 runs by Rahmat Shah with contributions from Mohammad Nabi and Samiullah Shenwari helped Afghanistan chase the required runs in the 48th over.

Afghanistan will face UAE for their next match in the Super Six stage of the ongoing ICC world Cup Qualifier.
