Bangladesh-A beat Afghanistan-A by 62 runs in the final match of the five-match one-day series in Savar to level the series 2-2.
Having won the toss, Afghanistan-A opted to field first. Bangladesh posted 262/9 on board in the first innings setting a target of 263 for the visitors. Bangladesh’s Naim Sheikh scored a century getting out for 126 while Afif Hussain scored 53 as well. Afghanistan’s Karim Janat and Fazal Niazai took four and two wickets respectively while 3 batsmen were run-out.
In response, Afghanistan-A were all out for 200 in 45.1 overs, thus conceding the match by 62 runs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz top-scored with 54 runs for the visitors while Nasir Jamal and Sharafuddin Ashraf also contributed with 47 and 35 runs respectively.
Bangladesh A’s Naim Sheikh was declared player of the match while Afghanistan A’s Ibrahim Zadran bagged the player of the series award.
This concluded Afghanistan-A ‘s tour of Bangladesh where they levelled the one-day series 2-2 and won the two-match four-day series 1-0.
