Afghanistan national team captain Mohammad Nabi Eisakhel resigned from his job during a press conference held at Afghanistan Cricket Board. Afghanistan Cricket Board chairman Nasimullah Danish, vice chairman Azizullah Fazli, Captain Mohammad Nabi, national players and Cricket Board employees along with correspondents from media participated in the conference.
Eisakhel thanked Cricket Board for supporting him as a captain; he said that he had several achievements as a captain during last two years. He added that the team qualified to world cup during this period, the team participated in Asia cup for the first time and beat strong Bangladesh side, beat Zimbabwe in their home grounds and earned its first world cup victory in the ICC Cricket world cup 2015. Eisakhel mentioned the achievements the proud for the entire nation and said he will support the new captain for getting more achievements. Eisakhel said the reason behind his resignation is the pressure of captaincy which affected his individual performance. He thanked his fans for their support.
The chairman of Afghanistan Cricket Board Nasimullah said welcome to all participants. He added that that Nabi Eisakhel is not only a great captain but also a successful player. He added that resigning from the team is Eisakhel’s decision and we are disappointed with that. He said that during the captaincy of Mohammad Nabi the team had lots of achievements; we have won 6 successful games for qualifying to world cup. Also six new players got place in the national team. Danish added that they have created a full plan for 2019 Cricket world cup and the team will qualify with full potential to the next world cup.
