Afghanistan Squad announced for Friendship Cup One Day Series

The first four-day match between Afghanistan’s Development Squad and Pakistan’s Habib Bank Limited ended in draw in Kabul on Saturday May 21, 2016.

Afghanistan Development Squad won second 4-day match against Habib Bank Limited by 216 runs in the second 4-day match against Habib Bank Limited.

ACB Chairman Nasimullah Danish said, “We initiated International Cricket in Alokozay – Kabul International Cricket Stadium. OD series will be more entertaining cricket for the cricket fans in Afghanistan. We are still improving as a red-ball cricketer for Afghanistan.”

“Afghan cricketers are very talented and I was not expecting tough cricket from Afghanistan. We take it easy; however we learn many lessons from Afghanistan Cricket Team and will give hard time to Afghan team in OD series.” Imran Farhat, skipper of Habib Bank said.

“We will have the same team for upcoming OD match and looking forward to Ahmad Shahzad and Shahid Afridi to join us for One Day matches.”

Shafiq Stanikzai, CEO of Afghanistan Cricket Board said, “We are promoting young talent; youngster showed their talent not only in the four day match, they also played remarkable cricket in the provincial elite cup matches.”
