Afghanistan beat Pakistan by 21 runs in Under-19s Asia Cup Sri Lanka

Afghanistan under-19s side won their first match of the Asia Cup 2016-17 on Friday after beating Pakistan by 21 runs.

Afghanistan after batting first posted a competitive score of 273 in their 50 overs, courtesy of Darwish Rasooli's quick fire 92 of 65 balls and couple half centuries of Tariq (59) and Ibrahim Zadran (51).

In chase of 274 Pakistan under-19s team has lost their openers inside first 10 overs of the monetary power play, despite Abdullah Shafique's 60 of 62 balls, there was no significant partnership for the middle order batsmen to ship the team closer to the total.

Darwish Rasoli awarded Player of the Match for his brilliant performance against Pakistan Under-19 Team.

For Afghanistan Zahir Khan and Mujeeb were the pick of the bowlers as they managed to restrict the rival team to 252.

The match was played at the same venue where Afghanistan played its first match of the competition on Dec. 15, in group B against Bangladesh which ended in losing cause.

In the next match, Afghanistan will take on Singapore Under-19s On Sunday, Dec. 18 at Surrey village, Maggona.
