Afghanistan won first Twenty20 International Match by 11 runs

Afghanistan beat the UAE by 11 runs in the first of three T20Is in Dubai, setting a total of 161/6 before the hosts could only reply with 150/7.

Afghanistan chose to bat first after winning the toss, the Afghans posted a 161- 6 as they played all their mandated overs at ICC Cricket Academy, UAE.

Mohammad Shahzad top scored with his 38 off 29 balls, including five fours. He was followed by Najibullah Zadran who made 31 not out.

In his T20 debut, Karim Janat Karim Janat picked up the Man of the Match award for his 25 runs and 3 wicket haul.

Rameez Shahzad and Shaiman Anwar played aggressively with 49 and 34 but they were dismissed by Rashid Khan.

At the end, they were 150-7 after last ball of their innings and suffered, falling short of 12 runs to the target.

Second T20I match of this series will be played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday 16 December 2016.
