Kabul April 17, 2016: Friendship Cup 2016 will begin in Kabul on Wednesday, 18th April, 2016. ACB Development Squad (ADS) and Habib Bank (HBL) will be playing two 4 – Day and four ODI matches in Alokozay – Kabul International Cricket Stadium in May – June, 2016.

The Friendship Cup series is a part of ACB’s efforts to further improve the quality of cricket in the country. 4 – Day and OD matches will be played against HBL experienced cricketers. 

One Day clashes are set to attract fans interest as Shahid Afridi, Umer Gul, Ahmad Shahzad will be joining HBL team for OD matches against ACB Development Squad.

“ACB’s staff is capable to host international cricket in Kabul, we are fully equipped to invite International teams to Kabul for series of matches. Cricket is peace promoter, such series will institute peace and we are sports ambassadors.”

Najib Zadran is talented players; selection committee has given chance to showcase his leading skill.” Nasimullah Danish, ACB Chairman.

“Scotland will host Afghanistan in two ODIs at the Grange in Edinburgh in 4th July. Ireland will be hosting for 5 ODIs on 10th July, 2016. While Netherland will be playing 4-day I-Cup matches with Afghanistan.” CEO Shafiq Stanikzai Afghanistan Cricket Board.
