HBL Cricket Team Arrives In Kabul for Friendship Cup

HBL cricket team arrived in Kabul today (Sunday) to participate in a series of cricket matches against Afghanistan Cricket Board Development Squad.

Afghanistan Cricket Board Deputy Chairman Azizullah Fazli and Deputy CEO Dost Nazari welcomed the cricket team on their arrival to Kabul.

Afghanistan Development Squad (ADS) and Habib Bank (HBL) will be playing two 4 – Day and four ODI matches in Alokozay – Kabul International Cricket Stadium.

“We are promoting international cricket in Afghanistan, HBL cricket team arrival to Kabul is first step and will continue.” Nasimullah Danish, Chairman of Afghanistan Cricket Board said.

“First time we are hosting International cricketers in Kabul where Pakistan cricket team players are also participating in Friendship Cup; this is step towards achieving full membership and promoting cricket culture in the country.” Shafiq Stanikzai, CEO Afghanistan Cricket Board said.

Imran Farhat, HBL cricket team skipper, “Thanks to Afghanistan Cricket Board for inviting HBL team to Kabul. Friendship Cup will be an entertaining event for cricket lovers.”

Deputy Chairman Azizullah Fazli added that, “Warm welcome to the HBL cricket team, we are committed for promoting sporting behavior in Afghanistan.”
