Afghanistan Cricket Board’s senior management committee has said that Afghanistan Cricket Team All-Stars will be playing Twenty20 match on October 21, 2016 in Alokozay – Kabul Cricket Stadium to raise money for displaced and affected people of Kunduz.
Hostilities began in the region on October 3, 2016 with attacks by the militant’s in northern city of Kunduz. As a result of the ongoing conflict, approximately 20,000 families are affected and displaced in Kunduz, and are in need of immediate assistance.
During the charity cricket match planning, Nasimullah Danish, the Chairman of Afghanistan Cricket Board, said, "Afghanistan is one body, and whenever a part of the body suffers, the rest of members are also suffering. Together with our cricket players, we are ready to assist the civilian victims and displaced people of the Kunduz province."
Shafiq Stanikzai expressed, "The income of the match will be donated to support the affected people of Kunduz, we are united and today we have business communities and national institutions to share and support the grieved people of Kunduz."
“Afghan business community and individual is requested to come forward and contribute for their own brothers and sisters affected in the militant’s attack.”
