Imran Janat and Naveed Obaid sealed playoffs spot for Band-e-Amir Dragons after beating Kabul Eagles by eight wickets with 20 balls remaining in Kabul on Monday.
Choosing to field first after winning the toss Band-e-Amir Dragons had to chase a challenging total of 175 runs.
The opening pairs’ (Imran Janat and Naveed Obaid) blistering knocks kept Band-e-Amir Dragons as serious contender in the tournament as they climbed to third place in the table with six points.
Imran Janat was on 76 (43) not out while Naveed Obaid scored 70 runs of 36 balls.
However, BEAD was already in the playoffs as SGT lost to MAK. The loss didn’t bother Kabul Eagles as they were in the playoffs stage.
Earlier in the day defending champions Speen Ghar Tigers were eliminated from the fourth edition of the Shpageeza Cricket League after losing to Mis Ainak Knights who booked a place in the playoffs.
On Tuesday (tomorrow) Amo Sharks will face Boost Defenders who are already out of the competition but it is an important match for AS as it will determine their place in the top four teams of the tournament.
