Band-e-Amir beat Speen Ghar by 41 runs in SCL opener

Band-e-Amir Dragons defeated Speen Ghar Tigers by 41 runs in the inaugural match of Alokozay Shpageeza Cricket League 2016 in Kabul on Tuesday.

Band-e-Amir who were sent to bat first seemed to be in troubling situation during the start of their innings as they lost their openers Imran Janat and Hazratullah on single digit.

However, their innings gained momentum as former national team captain Mohammad Nabi blasted 83 off 49 balls. Hashmatullah Shahidi hit 50 to help his side post 165-run target.

In the chase of the moderate total, defending champions Speen Ghar Tigers lost two early wickets including that of Pakistani player Nasir Jamshed who got run out by Ahmad Qais.

Karim Sadiq, Samiullah Shinwari and Tariq Stanikzai looked to recover their innings with their 20 plus but they were dismissed by Naveen-ul-Haq and Nasratullah who totally took three and two wickets each respectively.

A huge crowd of fans could be seen at the ground as the match was broadcast live and exclusively on 1TV.

The next match of the tournament during the same day will be between Amo Sharks and Kabul Eagles.
