The ACB, NCA coaching camp started from July 27 to August 1 for 70 U-17 boys from all over Afghanistan at Alokozay – Kabul International Cricket Stadium. The boys will receive coaching from National and International Cricketers and coaches.

The camp will be a grooming exercise for those who excelled during last year's regional tournament and trial matches held in Band-e-Ameer, Spenghar, Bost Defender, Amo Shark and Mis-e-Ainak regions.

Nasimullah Danish, Chairman of Afghanistan Cricket Board said, “Besides helping youngsters, the ACB is fully equipped with qualified coaches and the camp will present us with another opportunity to pass on our knowledge to so many young cricketers.”

“Selection committee of Afghanistan Cricket Board will be selecting 25 players from this camp for the final camp to be organized in NCA, Kabul. Final team will be selected for Under-19 Asia Cup to be held in Sir Lanka from 10 – 12 December, 2016,” said Naveed Sayam, Manager U-19 team of Afghanistan Cricket Board.

Shafiq Stanikzai, CEO of Afghanistan Cricket Board said, "If you look at last year's World Cup winning Under-19 cricketers, they were stars when they came back from Australia and earn ninth position in Under-19 World Cup.”

"We should complement the board for deciding to help such players who are quality players but are in danger of getting lost in transition."
