Kabul: Afghanistan Cricket Board has named squad for their upcoming ICC Intercontinental Cup with Netherland next month.

“We have nice blend of experience and a sprinkling of youth for ICup match against Netherland, and we are aware of just how quickly Netherland have progressed in Intercontinental Cup, indeed beating The Namibia in this competition.”

“Hashmatullah Shahidi and Zahir Khan’s experience are invaluable and gives extra strength and depth to our bating and bowling attack. The games come at a perfect time for them ahead of the Alokozay – Shpageeza Cricket League domestic season, so the demands and stresses on his body won’t be so great.” said Afghanistan Cricket Board Chairman, Nasimullah Danish.

Shafiq Stanikzai, CEO of Afghanistan Cricket Board said, “We’ve a total of one 4-day lined up with Netherland which will help us get into the right frame, Ihsan Janat, Sayed Shirzad, Hashmatullah Shahidi and Zahir Khan (Chinamen) join the squad for those games – all have proved very valuable in the past in the 4-day format.”
