Afghanistan Win Fourth ODI to take unassailable lead of 3-1 Against Zimbabwe

Afghanistan beat Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in the fourth ODI of Azizi Bank Cup and claimed an unassailable lead of 3-1 to win the series.

Zimbabwe earlier won the toss and elected to bat first. Their batsmen had difficulty facing impressive bowling by young Afghan spinners Mujeeb Zadran and Rashid Khan. Craig Ervine top scored with a patient half century while Brendon Taylor contributed 30 runs to the total. Zimbabwe were all out for 134 runs thus setting a target of 135 runs for Afghanistan to chase in the allotted 50 overs.

Mujeeb Zadran claimed his maiden five -wicket haul in ODI cricket surpassing Waqar Younis to become the youngest ever international player to claim a five for in ODIs. Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi continued their great form taking 2 wickets apiece.

Coming to bat for the second innings of the match, Afghan openers Mohammad Shahzad and Ihsan Jannat batted swiftly. Mohammad Shahzad , in particular, was impressive as he completed 2000 runs in ODI cricket becoming the second Afghan player after Mohammad Nabi to do so. Meanwhile, he also became the leading run scorer for Afghanistan in ODI cricket. Afghanistan chased the target successfully without losing any wickets. Mujeeb Zadran was declared the player of the match for his amazing bowling.
