Zimbabwe won the second ODI match of the ongoing Azizi Bank Cup. Having won the toss, they elected to bat first. Zimbabwean batsmen batted impressively.Opener Hamilton Masakadza played a good knock of 45 runs after Zimbabwe lost their first wicket early. Wicketkeeper batsman, Brendon Taylor hit his 9th ODI century, a performance which earned him the player of the match award. All rounder Sikandar Raza scored 92 runs. For Afghanistan, Rashid Khan continued his great bowling form and took 2 wickets giving away only 36 runs. Afghanistan were in trouble losing early wickets. Mohammad Nabi and Rahmat Shah put on a decent partnership. Mohammad Nabi also became the first ever Afghan player to complete 2000 runs in ODIs. He got out after scoring 31 runs. Other notable performance included Rahmat Shah's 44 runs. As the innings moved towards the end, Dawlat Zadran and Mujeeb Zadran put on an entertaining partnership. However, as Mujeeb Zadran lost his wicket, Zimbabwe won the match by 154 runs. The third match of the Azizi Bank Cup will be played on Tuesday, 13th of February.
